hostname [<name>]
Display or set the local host's name. By convention this should be the same as the host's fully qualified domain name. This string is used in the greeting messages of the various network servers, and potentially in the AliasFile. See also ip to set the system's IP address.
NOTE: If <name> is set to an <interface> defined in an attach command, this command will search for a "CNAME" domain resource record which corresponds to the IP address of the <interface>. This is used to set your hostname to equal a dynamically assigned IP address on a dial-in line.
Example:
hostname crv.kuyx.ampr.org
